Sat 15 May 2010  FA Cup Final Day
Wigan Rovers 5

Graham Croft (2)
Wigan Rovers Res 3

It comes around fast but yet again it was FA Cup Final day and both teams wanted to finish the season with a win.

The game started in high spirits and the first team were looking most lightly to open the scoring but in fact it was a great move by Myers and Archer which made the first goal, the latter being the scorer. It wasn’t long before it was 1-1 when a great through ball by J Dainty saw Hill one on one with S Dainty and he made no mistake, soon after the first team took the lead when a croft scored a tread mark goal. Straight from the kick off a mix up at the back aloud Myers the easiest of tap in’s when Davies back pass was too short for Goulden and Myers made no mistake.

Half Time – All square 2-2

The first team started to pull away in the second half and stated there dominance, but the third goal did have a bit of luck involved in it when a Doran shot took a big deflection off Taylor and Dainty could do nothing. Hill and Croft did what they do best next and capitalised on bad defending and made no mistake with there one on ones to make it 5-2. Elliot did manage to get a late consolation goal for the second team when he bamboozled the defence and slotted home nicely. But that’s the way it stayed and that’s the season done with, let’s hope for better next year.

WOW – Doran, as long as I play football I will never see a miss like that lad.
